Kann man Gopf mit Claude nachbauen?

An investor asked me last week: "Could I rebuild Gopf – Strategic Intelligence with Claude?" He could copy the interface in a weekend. But the part nobody can copy took us 3.5 years to build.

His logic made sense on the surface.

Better models keep coming out, agents keep getting cheaper, and anyone with a credit card can spin up something that looks like what we built.

But the interface was never the product.

What sits underneath it is:

  • Custom web scrapers pulling niche data you can't get off the shelf
  • 2000 keywords per customer tracked across four search engines
  • 72 agents that score the quality of every piece of data that comes in

And every source gets saved into our own database.

We don't just link out to the internet and hope it's still there later. We keep the evidence.

Most of those hurdles have nothing to do with AI. The scraping runs into technical walls that no model swap fixes.

In fact, the AI is the cheap part.

We spend 240 francs a month on the models.

The expensive piece is the infrastructure underneath, just under 2,000 a month, because that's where the real work happens.

We engineered around the expensive models on purpose.

We can plug in open source where it makes sense, because the model was never the moat.

What we built is a data flywheel.

We generate data that develops itself and produces new data. You can't prompt your way into that.

So yes, you could rebuild the surface in a weekend.

Then you'd spend the next few years on the part that actually matters.
