Nichts zu lehren bei Swisca

I sat down with the 6 people who run Swisca, an 8-year-old milling company, to show them where AI is heading. But 20 minutes in, I realized I had nothing to teach them.

I've never met a manufacturing company this far ahead.

A couple of months ago, they started building with Claude Code.

Now their engineers write their own Python scripts and push them straight into the ERP they already run.

Every one of those used to go through their ERP vendor at 2,000 to 3,000 Swiss francs a request.

Now they build it themselves, faster.

These are engineers, not software developers.

And this isn't a couple of people experimenting on the side.

The whole leadership team uses AI every day, from the CTO to the head of sales, and they encourage everyone to do the same.

I ran through my usual intro on how the best companies actually use AI.

When I finished, the CTO said: "That's exactly how we already do it."

By the time I left, I had stopped thinking about their AI setup. I was thinking about their competitors.

If I were one of them, I'd be scared.

swisca ag is small and sharp, and every tool they build makes them faster. Their rivals are still treating AI like a chatbot they'll eventually get to.

I left convinced that they would not stay small for long.
